The Rubettes were one of those bands who didn't particularly offend me, I just didn't rate/notice them. Regulars to Top of the Pops in the seventies they appealed to the teenybopper demographic. They were primarily known for their hit, "Sugar Baby Love," which is not on this album, but notwithstanding, this is their most highly rated on RYM.

£ THE RUBETTES Wear It's 'At ( UK track vinyl LP, their debut album including their biggest hit Sugar Baby Love plus Tonight. The gatefold picture sleeve has an internal pocket complete with the rare white card hat and shows just a little shelfwear to the edges, whilst the vinyl appears in near 'as new' condition).

Then I remembered why I bought this album in the first place: I wanted to hear the roots of Rock by a band that was experimenting with American blues (Boom Boom, I Wish You Would, Got to Hurry) and going beyond the blues to form a new sound (For Your Love). This Yardbirds post-Clapton album is a wonderful sample of Music in Transition, and it /5(10).
